The Lanzarote parliamentarian of the Canarian Nationalist Group, Jesús Machín Tavío, has accused this Monday the Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Blas Trujillo, "of forgetting the health needs of Lanzarote and La Graciosa", even "playing with their hopes with false promises."

Machín has recalled "the long-awaited, necessary and demanded radiotherapy bunker". “After having announced with great fanfare that the bunker would be in the first quarter of 2022, that the works were in the final phase and that it would be a reality soon, now we find out that at the earliest it will be for the end of 2023”, he questions.

The nationalists point out that this is "a hard blow for the entire population", but especially "for cancer patients and their families who, once again, have come face to face with the harsh reality; that of a government that literally stalls, while playing with their illusions and expectations."

Machín has continued what in his opinion is a "list of absurdities" from a Ministry "that does not care about the island's health situation", and has also criticized "the non-existence of the promised Hemodynamics Unit".

“They even assured in a press release that in 2021 it would be finished and fully operational, then that it would be for 2022, but the reality is that we are already finishing the year, we are still the same and this government seems to forget that the Hemodynamics Unit is crucial to save lives”, laments the conejero deputy.

Among the list of health needs "promised and forgotten" by the government of Ángel Víctor Torres, Jesús Machín also asked about the medicalized helicopter for Lanzarote, “announced and stored in the drawer, the improvements to the island Hospital or the implementation of the Early Care Unit."

“It is curious that every time I ask, everything is in process, but the only thing that is ending is this term. We have a government that likes to announce but knows little about managing. Luckily, there are fewer and fewer people who buy the story!", he stressed.
