The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Equality of the Government of the Canary Islands, José Miguel Barragán, announced this Tuesday together with the senior prosecutor of the Canary Islands, Vicente Garrido, the launch of the procedure to create the Fiscal Office, "a new organizational model of the same with the aim of achieving a more efficient Administration". The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Justice, Emilio Moreno, and the General Director of Relations with the Administration of Justice, Cesáreo Rodríguez.
This was explained by Barragán at the end of the celebration of the Joint Commission of the Prosecutor's Office, which took place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in which it was also agreed to launch a "closer collaboration" between the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Equality and the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, "in order to examine the needs of the Archipelago in this matter".
The counselor explained that "this cooperation already exists", but clarified that "it is not always carried out with the required frequency, so both parties commit to exchanging information so that the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Equality can present to the Ministry of Justice the real needs of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands".
Likewise, Barragán informed Garrido and the rest of the attendees to the Joint Commission of the Prosecutor's Office about the progress made in the decision-making process regarding the location of the future City of Justice of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
