The Arrecife City Council has announced a competition of ideas for the selection of a sculptural work to be located in the Plaza de Valterra. This project will serve to pay tribute to all the fishermen of Arrecife, as well as the sailors and victims of the Cruz del Mar, seven of whom perished aboard that ship after the terrorist attack of November 28, 1978.
The deadline for submitting entries will be 30 days from this Tuesday and the winner will receive a cash prize of 1,200 euros. According to the contest rules, the works submitted must be unpublished and each participant may enter the contest with an unlimited number of works. The capital's Consistory will be in charge of materializing the winning work in the Plaza del Carmen de Valterra.
