British tourism to Lanzarote reaches 53% of the total, seven points more than in 2015

British tourism is the most important in Lanzarote in numerical terms and continues to grow. Between April and June it grew another 5% compared to last year.

If a few years ago it represented half of foreign tourism, now it is more than half of total tourism, including national tourism.

In the second quarter of the year, 427,599 British tourists arrived on the island, which is equivalent to 53% of all tourism in Lanzarote during those months.

Ten years ago, in 2015, 273,164 tourists arrived from the United Kingdom in the second quarter, which was equivalent to 46% of all tourism at that time.

The second quarter of this year also reveals a growth in Irish tourism, which with 96,798 arrivals between April and June, has increased by 10% compared to the same period last year.

Peninsular tourism has also seen its market share increase during the second quarter. It has grown by 13% to a total of 80,840 travelers.

Another market that has been strengthened during the second quarter of 2025 has been the Italian market, which has increased by 8% to 19,241 travelers.

In contrast, tourism from both Belgium (11,964 people) and the Netherlands (17,657 travelers) has fallen compared to the spring of 2024. Specifically, 18% and 9% less respectively.

Similarly, in the second quarter of the year there was a decrease in French tourism compared to last year of 9% to a total of 52,776 tourists from French airports.

The German and Nordic markets maintained practically the same numbers. There were 62,340 travelers from Germany and 6,437 from the Nordic countries.
