Tragic accident: 26-year-old motorcyclist dies in Arrecife

Another 21-year-old was critically injured and taken to Molina Orosa Hospital

A tragic traffic accident has left one dead and one critically injured on Thursday night in Arrecife. The incident occurred at 11:32 p.m. on Río Grande Street, where two young men fell from the motorcycle they were riding.

The Canary Islands Government's Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 received the alert and immediately activated emergency resources. A medicalized ambulance and two basic life support ambulances from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched to the scene, in addition to officers from the Local Police and the National Police.

Upon arrival of the medical personnel, the death of one of the motorcyclists, a 26-year-old man, was confirmed. The second person affected, a 21-year-old, had multiple injuries and was transferred in critical condition in a medicalized ambulance to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

The Local Police were in charge of regulating traffic in the area and carrying out the corresponding report to clarify the causes of the accident. For its part, the National Police collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources.
