The Civil Guard of Fuerteventura, within the framework of Operation Praktiker, arrested on July 18, 2025 a minor as allegedly responsible for two serious injury crimes that occurred
in the town of Costa Calma, municipality of Pájara. The victims are two women who were staying in hotel complexes in the area.
The investigation, carried out by the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Gran Tarajal in collaboration with members of the Main Post of Morrojable, began as a result of the assault suffered on June 23, 2025 by a woman.
The victim was assaulted inside the hotel room where she was staying, in the southern part of the island of Fuerteventura, resulting in serious injuries to her head, hands and arms, for which she was urgently transferred to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura to receive medical attention. This event generated great social alarm, increased by the messages that the victim later published on her social networks.
During the first proceedings, images from the security cameras in the area were analyzed. The agents compared the information with workers from nearby hotels, people staying on the dates investigated and residents and employees of nearby businesses, verifying background and possible links with similar events.
The analysis of the images allowed to relate this first aggression with another event of similar characteristics, which occurred on December 16, 2024, in which another woman was attacked inside her hotel room, also in Costa Calma and a short distance from the first place of the events.
In both cases, an identical modus operandi was observed. After carefully comparing the security recordings, the investigators concluded that the same person would have entered both rooms and caused the serious injuries to the women who were inside.
With the information collected, steps were taken to identify the possible perpetrator. The investigations allowed to focus the investigation on a minor who matched the description obtained. Under surveillance and monitoring, sufficient evidence was gathered to request authorization from the Juvenile Court of Las Palmas to search his home.
On July 18, 2025, with the corresponding judicial authorization, the entry and search of the minor's home was carried out. In the operation, the clothing he would have worn in both episodes was recovered, as well as various objects possibly related to the aggressions. Mobile devices were also seized for analysis, in order to fully clarify the facts.
Finally, the minor was arrested, who was placed at the disposal of the Prosecutor's Office for Minors of Las Palmas. His admission to the Tabares Minors Center was decreed, where he will remain under the relevant judicial measures.
