The Arrecife City Council launches "a powerful" investment plan to modernize the neighborhoods of the capital of Lanzarote. Yonathan de León has stated that “the neighborhoods are the priority this new term and we focus on them”.

The capital's Government group begins this fall the "modernization" of the neighborhoods and "bids for the urban renewal" of Tinasoria with an investment that "exceeds three million euros", including taxes, the Council advances.

De León had told the residents of this neighborhood, coinciding with the act of reading the proclamation of the Tinasoria festivities, that the City Council, "had a plan underway to renew the urban image" of the neighborhoods, and that this municipal plan "would start with the streets of Tinasoria".

The Public Sector Contracting Platform published on September 23 the official announcement of the City Council where it puts "out to tender" the “work of renewal and urban regeneration of Tinasoria” for an amount of "2,851,217.84 euros, to which taxes are added".

Accessibility in the streets of the neighborhoods and tree planting

According to the technical specifications, the works to be executed will allow a comprehensive modernization of the "sidewalks, eliminating barriers and making them accessible, new public lighting network, providing new lampposts with LED lighting to the streets of the neighborhood, new network for the collection of rainwater, and provision of trees to these roads where several groups of social housing are located". In addition, it points out that "all new tree plantings will be equipped with drip irrigation".

Yonathan de León has detailed that in parallel to the works also "the neighborhoods will see in these coming months important improvements in their streets and squares". Along with this important tender in Tinasoria, the 'Municipal Neighborhood Plan' plans to continue in other areas of the municipality for which the necessary projects are already being drafted.

Companies interested in competing for this tender have until October 23, 2023 to register their economic proposals, concludes the city council.
