The Arrecife City Council has announced the official tender for the contracting of the Maintenance, Conservation and Repair service for the Educational Centers dependent on the City Council, which is divided into three lots. The tender covers improvements in 13 educational centers, including the Children's School and the Adult Center of Titerroy.
The budget amounts to 1,391,000 euros per year and the contract may be extended for four years, with three possible extensions of one year each, so the total value reaches 5,200,000 euros.
"By indications of the Government group, led by Astrid Pérez, it has been foreseen in this new tender to carry out works to improve accessibility in all public schools in Arrecife," they specify from the Consistory. For this, they affirm that they have "prioritized that the companies that compete can indicate the works in this field, and they will be valued, following the bases stipulated in the technical specifications".
The Councilor for Education, Saro González Perdomo, has highlighted that given the average age of these buildings where the educational centers are located, which already exceed 40 years, it has been foreseen that the maintenance work will be in many of the areas of each building, including toilets and bathrooms, where the replacement of new parts will be necessary. That is why they explain that this contest has been re-tendered, "to which the investments have been doubled".
Interested companies have until July 5, 2021 to submit their economic proposals.
