The Arrecife City Council plenary session, held this Thursday, definitively approved the free transfer of public land to the Government of the Canary Islands for the construction of 400 social housing units.
The mayor of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, highlighted that the file completed this Thursday was resolved "in record time." "In January we verified that the file initiated by the previous person in charge was flawed from the beginning, since the land offered was listed as having been previously transferred to the Government for other purposes," she pointed out.
"We had to start the necessary procedure to revert the land to municipal property for not having executed the planned actions by the Government and, from there, put together the free transfer file," explained de Anta.
The mayor expressed her satisfaction for having completed the transfer file. "Arrecife has provided the land, now it is the turn of the Government of the Canary Islands to materialize the investment," said Eva de Anta, expressing her confidence that the regional Executive will be able to carry out the planned investment.
"I am aware of the rigor with which they are working and I am convinced that, after eight years of abandonment by the Government, Arrecife will once again benefit from the promotion of social housing", added the mayor after the plenary session.
