The residents of the 100 homes in the Titerroy neighborhood had been waiting for nearly 25 years for the improvement of their roads. Now, the Arrecife City Council has completed the resurfacing work on the accesses to these homes with working-class families.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, who is directly responsible for the Department of Public Works, has been in the Titerroy neighborhood this week supervising the completion of the asphalt paving work, which has also included the marking of vehicle parking areas, highly demanded by the residents.

This large parking lot, in addition to being used by the residents of the 100 homes in Titerroy, provides services to the users of the Official School of Languages, which is located in the area. Along with the resurfacing work in this sector, the Department of Public Works of the capital's City Council has made improvements to the perimeter wall next to the Monseñor Óscar Romero Pedestrian Promenade, which begins next to the blocks of these homes, and continues until its intersection with the Medular Road.

Reinforce the pavement in large vehicle parking areas

The mayor has detailed that along with the improvement of the roads in the neighborhoods of Arrecife, work is also being done to replace the asphalt pavement in large parking areas of the city, as has been done these days in this neighborhood of Titrroy, in the area that includes the Sports Pavilion, the 100 homes, and the parking annex next to the neighborhood and the Official School of Languages, or as in the past month of February the work was completed in the large parking lot next to El Cable beach, and the Nautical Sports Center.

Altavista receives improvements to its roads

Yonathan de León has confirmed that after these improvements completed in several streets of the Titerroy neighborhood, the company awarded the work of one of the paving phases “is already working, since this week, in the streets of the Altavista neighborhood. The residents are seeing with their own eyes that the machinery is working in their neighborhood”, remarked the mayor, after 25 years of neighborhood waiting.

The Department of Public Works of the Arrecife City Council has launched the largest Municipal Resurfacing Plan in the history of Arrecife, where work is being done on nearly 150 streets, which will have new asphalt pavement. Several of the city's neighborhoods, such as San Francisco Javier, Argana, La Destila, El Cable, La Vega, Las Salinas, El Lomo, Puerto de Naos, Valterra, or Titerroy have seen many improvements in their roads, whose works have been executed in these months ago.
