The Arrecife City Council plenary session unanimously approved this Thursday, June 5, the Regulatory Bases for the granting of subsidies for housing rehabilitation, as well as the specific bases for aid in the area of Social Action, reinforcing the commitment to social and housing policies and responding to vital needs for citizens.

On the one hand, the Housing Area, led by Councilor Rosmen Quevedo, has put forward the instrumental call for the direct granting of aid that will improve the safety, habitability and accessibility of the habitual homes of neighbors with limited economic resources. With a budget of 283,695.64 euros, these aids are aimed at structural rehabilitation, functional adaptation and adaptation of homes for people with reduced mobility.

Quevedo highlighted that "these subsidies have an eminently social character and are designed to provide an urgent response to exceptional situations that affect many families in Arrecife. It is a key tool to guarantee the right to decent and safe housing."

On the other hand, the Social Welfare Area, headed by Councilor Maite Corujo, has promoted the initial approval of the specific bases for Social Action subsidies, which will allow associations and non-profit entities to develop projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable groups in the municipality. The new bases respond to the need to adapt the regulations to the reality of the applicant entities and facilitate the management of 2025 aid on time.

Corujo stressed that "social action needs agile, transparent and effective tools. These bases allow us to promote projects that address basic needs, promote integration and citizen participation, and strengthen the social fabric of Arrecife."

Both regulations will be published in the Official Gazette of the Province and in the electronic headquarters of the City Council, opening the corresponding periods for allegations and requests according to each call.
