The city of Arrecife will premiere this summer new night lighting along the promenade that borders the Castle of San José. The City Council of Arrecife is finalizing the works to provide lighting to this area, from the viewpoint next to the old salt mines of Puerto de Naos, and to Playa de La Arena.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the councilor of Beaches and Environment, Davinia Déniz, have recently visited these works, which are carried out jointly between the Areas of Beach, and Public Works of the City Council.

As reported by the consistory, "Heritage has prevented the installation of lampposts on this promenade", so the City Council of Arrecife has had to place the new lighting systems inside the volcanic stone wall that surrounds the perimeter of the promenade. The lighting will be beacon type, whose network is being completed in these weeks.

Yonathan de León has detailed that during this second part of this mandate there will be more works and improvements on the Arrecife waterfront, for which the mandatory sectorial authorizations are being processed.

For her part, the Councilor for Beaches and Environment, Davinia Déniz, has remarked that the lighting of this section of the promenade will allow residents and residents to enjoy this area of the city with walks at dawn or at night. Until now, the entire area lacked night lighting and generated some insecurity for passers-by.

Next to the promenade is the Castle of San José, International Museum of Contemporary Art, which, managed by the CACT, is part of the tourist and cultural attractions of Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote.

As is known, the City Council of Arrecife is awaiting the administrative concession from Costas to tender the works for the theme park, which is located on the city's seafront in the area of El Reducto beach.
