Binter has presented a proposal to operate regular flights during the summer to the Canary Islands from Logroño-Agoncillo Airport, Canary Islands, through the company Gestión Aeronáutica Integral Canaria, S.L..
The Riojan Executive has promoted this tender with the aim of improving the connectivity of the Riojans with the archipelago, as well as allowing the arrival of international and Canarian tourists to La Rioja.
Today, the 24th, the evaluation process has begun for the received offer, after the submission deadline for bidders ended yesterday at 2:00 p.m.
Thus, after the opening of the envelope and the examination of the submitted documentation, it has been verified that the registered offer meets the required conditions in clause 10 of the particular administrative clauses document, proceeding to its admission and to the continuation of the bidding process which will be resolved shortly.
The tender document establishes a minimum of 26 frequencies and 6,760 seats for each of the two years of the contract's duration, which will be extendable for two more, up to a maximum of four.
The bidder must connect Logroño-Agoncillo airport with one of the main terminals of the archipelago, to choose from Gran Canaria; Tenerife North-City of La Laguna; Tenerife South; Lanzarote-César Manrique Airport; and La Palma.
Likewise, the network of destinations will be valued that the airline offers from the chosen airport with single ticket service, check-in to final destination and connection protection to any of the other four main airports, as well as to those of Fuerteventura, El Hierro and La Gomera.
The operations will be carried out for an effective period of four months, comprised between June and September. During this period, a minimum of 52 round-trip operations must be offered, and a minimum capacity per flight of 130 seats.
The contract, which has been tendered for an amount of 538,450 euros, includes the execution of sponsorship actions to increase the positioning, notoriety, and recognition of the La Rioja tourist brand in the Canary Islands market, through advertising media and promotional actions linked to the air travel environment, taking advantage of the dissemination, impact, and segmentation capacity offered by the activity of the awarded airline.
In this way, it will contribute to consolidating the perception of La Rioja as an accessible, attractive, and competitive destination, reinforcing its presence in the Canarian market and favoring measurable return in terms of notoriety, promotional impact, and positioning.
