More than twenty residents actively participated in the practical composting workshop held this Saturday at the Tegoyo Community Gardens. Organized by the Agroecological Office and Rural Development of the Tías City Council with the collaboration of the Participas association and the guidance of master composter Klaus Guttenberger, the workshop allowed attendees to learn and put into practice various composting techniques.

The councilor of the area, Nicolás Saavedra, states that the Tías City Council is "still committed" to training and awareness in sustainability. "This activity not only promotes the recycling of organic waste, but also strengthens community ties and promotes agricultural practices that are more respectful of the environment."

During the day, attendees participated in the creation of a compost pile using materials such as dry leaves and branches, horse manure, and prickly pear paddles. In addition, they were able to share experiences and resolve doubts under the guidance of the master composter. Once the compost has matured, each participant will be able to collect their share to use in their gardens and orchards.

"It has been a very enriching morning in which we have learned together and worked as a team for a common goal. Our commitment is to continue offering these learning and meeting spaces throughout the year," explains Saavedra.

The Tías City Council appreciates the collaboration of all the people who made this activity possible and announces that new editions will be organized soon to continue promoting composting as a key tool in the sustainable management of organic waste. The contact telephone numbers of the Agroecological Office and Rural Development, located in the sociocultural center of Mácher, are 928 704 762 and 683 422 821.
