The PSOE deputy from Lanzarote, Ariagona González, has registered a Non-Law Proposal (PNL) on generational change in the fishing and agricultural sector, with the aim of attracting young people to this area, a proposal that will be debated in the Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Congress of Deputies.
González details that this initiative aims to implement measures to promote professional training, lifelong learning and the acquisition of new skills for under 40s who are unemployed, something that will be achieved thanks to the streamlining of the processing of the Operational Program of the European Maritime Fisheries and Agriculture Fund, for its subsequent transfer and approval by the European Commission.
On the other hand, it is also intended to prepare a working document, in coordination with the autonomous communities and social and economic agents, which serves as a guide for the development of proposals aimed at addressing the challenges of attracting a new generation of fishermen.
Likewise, González proposes to carry out an analysis of the different training pathways that currently exist and insist on the development of actions that favor the acquisition of degrees, both higher and lower, and the recognition of practical training in the fishing and agricultural sector.
