The Department of Social Welfare of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Maite Corujo, published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, the extract of the call for subsidies in the area of Social Action 2025. Starting this Thursday, August 28, the period for submitting applications is open, which will extend for 20 business days, until September 25 inclusive.
The global allocation that the capital's consistory allocates this year amounts to 508,750 euros, the same amount as in previous years, in order to continue consolidating stable and sustained support for social projects of municipal interest. The maximum amount of subsidy per initiative is 35,000 euros and each entity may submit a maximum of three projects.
The subsidies are aimed at non-profit associations, federations, foundations and NGOs, provided that their purposes are in accordance with the municipal interest and that they carry out activities within the term of Arrecife, or that, being of a supra-municipal scope, at least half of the beneficiaries are residents in the capital. The projects to be financed must be aimed at meeting basic subsistence needs, facilitating social and labor integration, promoting volunteering and coexistence, and promoting values such as equality, solidarity or healthy living.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, Immigration and Equality, Maite Corujo, has pointed out that "these aids seek to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable people in Arrecife, reinforcing the work carried out by our social entities in terms of inclusion, attention to basic needs and promotion of values of coexistence." Corujo added that "from the City Council we understand that the third sector is a fundamental ally to reach those who need it most, that is why we maintain a policy of constant and transparent support for their projects."
The councilor has also stressed that "the City Council's commitment to social action remains firm, offering annual economic incentives for associations to adopt activities that are of general interest."
Interested entities must submit their applications through the electronic registry, including the required documentation and official annexes: Application (Annex I), Social Intervention Project (Annex II) and Income and Expenditure Budget (Annex III). The models will be available at the municipal electronic headquarters and can also be consulted at the Department of Social Welfare itself (telephone 928 81 27 50, extension 1420, or [email protected]).
The period of execution of the projects will cover the entire year 2025, from January 1 to December 31, and the justification of the subsidies must be submitted in the month following the completion of said period. Among the eligible expenses are personnel, civil liability insurance, expendable material, administrative and management expenses, current expenses and didactic material.
The granting of aid will be carried out under the regime of competitive concurrence, through the comparative assessment of the applications submitted by an assessment commission. In case of non-compliance with the justification obligations or the imposed conditions, the reimbursement of the amounts received with the default interest established in Law 38/2003 General of Subsidies will proceed.
