The National Police have arrested about thirty Chinese illegals who were found crammed inside a fishing boat with serious deficiencies that arrived at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife early Friday morning, sources from the Government Sub-delegation reported, who specified that the crew members have also been arrested.
The same sources, who did not specify more details about the operation, since it has been declared under seal, indicated that the Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, José Segura, will offer a press conference this Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. to give the details of this police operation, which began early this Friday morning when the presence of the ship docked in the fishing dock of Santa Cruz de Tenerife was detected.
The ship had requested permission to dock at the pier of the capital of Tenerife at noon on Friday for that night and arrived at the facilities at about 2 a.m. on Friday, sources from the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife reported.
The same sources specified that the state of the ship is deplorable and pointed out that it is a 42.5-meter-long Chinese-flagged trawler, whose real name 'Liao Yu 806' had been erased and another false one 'Gbberedou-1' painted.
The agents of the National Police Force acted immediately after the arrival of the ship, inside which they found about thirty undocumented illegals and the crew members crammed, in a police operation carried out in two phases.
