A fire near a construction site woke up the residents of Montaña Roja

The material from a construction site in Montaña Roja, in Playa Blanca, was the focus of a provoked fire that was extinguished this Thursday morning by the Yaiza Firefighting Unit and Civil Protection. The fire started in the waste, machinery and formwork material that was located next to a construction site for residential homes.

Upon noticing, the neighbors of an adjacent complex called the Yaiza Local Police, who at 8:30 a.m. launched a firefighting action device. The neighbors made the emergency call because they feared that the flames, which were increasing, would spread to their homes. The rapid intervention of the firefighters prevented the fire from affecting the Virginia Park residential complex in Montaña Roja.

The fire did not cause personal injury or damage to any property. Two vehicles from the Yaiza City Council were moved to the scene of the incident: a mechanical shovel and a fire truck from which, according to the City Council, 30,000 liters of water were used to extinguish the fire.

Possibly a carelessness

The fire was provoked, but the Yaiza Local Police venture to say that it was not in bad faith. It is a local man who intended to burn wood and lost control of the bonfire. The person who caused the fire may be sanctioned, but will not be subjected to a judicial process because the incident did not have major consequences.
