The candidate of the Teguise Electoral Grouping (AET) for mayor, Laureano Álvarez, offers free tattoos to those registered in the municipality. This was announced on Thursday afternoon in a press release. Álvarez has stated that "Teguise is above all and everyone, because we always carry it in our heads and in our hearts and, for a few days now, also on our skin."
In this line, he pointed out that this initiative tries to demonstrate the "love" of his formation for Teguise. "My candidacy for mayor offers anyone who shares our love for the Teguise municipality to tattoo the name of the municipality on their skin, as I have done," he added. According to a press release, any resident in Teguise who wants to get this word tattooed for free should contact him through his Instagram profile.
With this peculiar way of campaigning, the candidate has criticized the interests of his opponents from the Canarian Coalition and the PSOE. Regarding the nationalist party, he stated that "he only remembers Teguise from time to time, after more than a decade occupying the armchair, with his mind set on Parliament and not on the needs of the Teguise people." Meanwhile, regarding the socialist candidate Marcos Bergaz, he pointed out that "he has come to remember Teguise two months before the elections and from the Cabildo's chair."
Likewise, he did not want to give more importance to the rest of the parties, insinuating "that they have enough messes behind closed doors."
"Tattooing Teguise on my skin is a declaration of intentions in the face of so much paraphernalia and pre-election lies from candidates who have shown that Teguise, in all cases, is the last of their priorities, which is unforgivable and I hope that the polls will punish their lack of love and forgetfulness towards Teguise," he concluded.
