Lanzarote's roads have claimed another life in less than 24 hours. A 29-year-old man died on Sunday night after his vehicle overturned on the LZ-2, near Indelasa.
The accident occurred at around 11 p.m., with two ambulances from the SUC, one medicalized and one basic life support, firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium and the Civil Guard traveling to the area.
SUC personnel could only certify the death of the young man due to the severity of his injuries.
The firefighters of the Consortium released the body of the deceased, as he had been trapped under the vehicle. The Civil Guard, for its part, instructed the corresponding proceedings and took charge of the body until the arrival of the Judicial Authority.
It should be remembered that in the early hours of Sunday to Monday, another young man died after leaving the road with his car and overturning near the San Bartolomé karting track. The victim, in this case, was Mario Alberto Roca, a 27-year-old Ecuadorian who resided in Arrecife. With these two fatalities, there have already been 10 deaths on the island's roads this year, while in all of 2017, seven people lost their lives in traffic accidents in Lanzarote, according to data from the Island Council's Road Safety and Education Service.
