The VII Historical Heritage Congress, which has addressed on this occasion the "Rock Inscriptions and Settlement of the Canary Archipelago", reaches its final stretch this Friday, after on Thursday afternoon a tribute was paid to the four palmeros who have contributed the most to the launch and development of the Benahorita Museum of La Palma.

The Councilor for Education and Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Francisco Cabrera, and the General Director of Cooperation and Historical Heritage of the Canary Islands, Aránzazu Gutiérrez, were in charge of carrying out this recognition, which aims to highlight and recognize the work and effort made by the Historical Heritage inspector of the Cabildo de La Palma and doctor in Archeology, Jorge Pais Pais; the Jurria Tenerra Collective, represented by Carlos Asterio Abreu and Carlos Cecilio Rodríguez; and the Arique collective with Casiano Melián.

This is a group of volunteers, who, linked from their beginnings to the Benahorita Museum of La Palma, contribute to the search for archaeological remains of La Palma, which allows their subsequent protection. This is, precisely, the reason that has led the Cabildo de Lanzarote, through the Island Heritage Service, to recognize this close collaboration with the Canarian archaeological world.

Closing day

After this recognition, the VII Historical Heritage Congress culminates with another day of framework presentations and a fourth round table with which a meeting will be concluded in which all expectations have been placed to safeguard the Canarian past.

At 5:30 p.m. this Friday, the closing conference will take place, given by the doctor in Biology, Rosa Irene Fregel Lornezo, who will delve into "The Evolutionary History of the Canary Islands from the point of view of autosomal markers".

After this conference, the fifth round table of the Congress will take place, which will be coordinated by the Heritage Inspector of the Cabildo de La Palma, Jorge Pais.

At 8:30 p.m., the closing ceremony is scheduled, with the presence of the Councilor for Social Welfare of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Marciano Acuña, and the General Director of Cooperation and Historical Heritage of the Government of the Canary Islands, Aránzazu Gutiérrez.
