More than five hundred people have participated in favor of the fight against ALS. The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, who participated in one of the race events, was accompanied by the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and by the rest of the local Corporation and other political representatives of the Island at the inauguration of a solidarity event "of utmost importance to give visibility to people suffering from the disease and show our support for their families."
The mayor thanked the reception of the race and the involvement of the company Fisiosan, "which has made the success in the organization possible and has demonstrated its professionalism, humanity and commitment to the cause."
"We are aware of the difficulties involved in suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis for people's quality of life, so, through this race, we wanted to contribute our grain of sand to the visibility of the disease and highlight our support for patients and families who strive to help them, also making our particular and affectionate tribute to Alexis Tejera," said the mayor.
Both the mayor, as well as the president of the Island Council, the Government group and family and friends wore a bib with the name of Alexis Tejera, instead of the traditional number, in an act of tribute to him.
For her part, the Councilor for Youth, Ani Lopes, thanked "all the participants registered in the event or with a solidarity bib, as well as the Cabildo of Lanzarote, collaborating companies, volunteers, security and emergency forces, and citizens in general for their involvement in this event to contribute to the cause."
