The sports field of Tiagua hosted the Parrandero Festival on Saturday with four folk groups. In the same place, Julia Martín Rodríguez, the oldest person in the town, was honored. The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, accompanied the family during the event.
This woman was born in 1916, is married to Juan Hernández and had five children. She was born in Soo, but has been residing in Tiagua for 49 years.
In addition, "La hoya del salinero", "La Pichona", "Guajime", and "El Golpito" performed at the folk festival.
