Title: For a special listener

Author: Ignacio Pacheco Cabrera

"Believe me if I tell you that life is a dream? that I had last night. As I woke up I was still savoring the last kiss from your lips. The stars were the sparkle of your eyes, scattered as you looked into the darkness, looking for me after the silence left when the waves ceased? This is how I remember you, every morning, at the end of the program, sitting behind the moon, still with the phone in your hand, without speaking, and the radio already turned off next to you. Believe me if I tell you that life is a dream, that must pass without waking up".

Title: "Message in a bottle"

Author: Alfredo Rodríguez Vicente

"The wind pushes my journey with force. Days tinged with a treacherous blue. The last crossing has left me without strength, exhausted. The mute screams of my arms were not difficult to silence. What has been really difficult has been the psychological struggle to which the southeast winds sentenced me for 13 days. The disordered waves have taken me to a dream difficult to forget. The island of Mauritius was recorded as a marine breath. I look at the bravery of the cyclone from a hatch sunk under the inexpressive mist. True, authentic ocean, with guts, without forgiveness. I enjoy without understanding".

Title: Living

Author: Antonio Fernández

"When the sun sets and the afternoon cools down, I get comfortable and go for a walk. I coincide with beachgoers, cyclists and walkers from Guacimeta, not without first listening to my tiny radio.

Topics arise: the most listened to is Gibrartar, we have the "summer snake" again leaving important issues parked.

My leisurely walk coincides with the loud noise produced by the engines of the planes when taking off and landing, finding myself on the way with loiterers, pet walkers, nudists and tricycle drivers (90).

And again the night, and I return to my house".

Title: The dream repairman

Author: José Luis Martínez Azpilicueta

"Gutted radios, the soldering iron smoking, the table full of junk, and Don Demetrio clad in his gray robe with cables hanging from his pockets and us around with innocence brand new, and he knew it; because despite his mustache and his baldness his eyes emitted on the same wave, silence, he told us, here the artist plays his life, and looking at the mysterious door of the storage room always closed, he continued, I have them there until dawn; then I put them in each device so that they sing, laugh, dream, like you...?"

Title: The English grandfather

Author: Martina Marco

"The mine exploded and the world disappeared in a roar.

The next sound was the lyrics of "We'll meet again", which was playing on the radio of the military truck where, bloody, he lay on the way to the field hospital.

For that English grandfather from whom I inherited my blue eyes, that was the soundtrack of the return home. He was returning broken by shrapnel and the horrors of war. The radio was playing. And my English grandfather hummed with his toothless mouth "We'll meet again" along with the unforgettable Vera Lynn and the rest of the dying".

Title: He who knows, knows

Author: Sandra Monteverde Ghuisolfi

? "What are you listening to?

? The radio ? he replied adjusting his headphones.

? And what for? We're supposed to go for a walk.

? I always turn on the radio when I pass by here. It's the only thing that silences the voices.

? What voices are you talking about?

? My father says that they always get tired of shouting and finally end up shutting up, but that doesn't convince me. I think I'll keep hearing them and only with the radio I manage to ignore them.

? You're crazier than a loon and by the way, what does your father know, to speak with such property?

? He knows everything from here, he's the gravedigger".

Title: Seeing the radio

Author: Pilar Añíbarro Aguado

"While the surgeon was removing the bandage from his eyes, a disturbing question was going through the patient's mind. Would that bionic eye be able to detect the device that had accompanied him throughout his life? Would the image designed in his mind through the touch of his hands coincide with the small transistor? Would that prosthesis transmit the affection towards the announcers when the Radio Reading program began? The operation has been a success, commented the Doctor, drying the tears that fell when listening to the tune and contemplating where the sound waves came from".

Title: A good discovery

Author: Sheila O.P.

"Stretched out on my roof terrace, a strange thing I observed

a long antenna my curiosity stung.

I asked my father and without further delay

a radio antenna he answered me.

With only four years I discovered a nice feeling.

I could listen to whoever was speaking at that moment

without receiving a single look.

Who would have imagined!

That from a device a voice could be created

with just a button to press.

I say goodbye now with this story

to which I hope that everyone

my memory will be pleasing".

Title: Perseid Shower

Author: Miboisa

"The first night of the Perseid shower arrived and the family gathered on the porch to observe it in the darkness and in silence, expectant before this wonder of Nature. There were four days announced, and four days that at the same time, they were placing themselves in the deck chairs to look at the sky. Three generations that soon got used to this appointment, and although the rain passed, they still meet to look at the stars, and in the background nothing better than the radio, to accompany this magical moment and provide arguments to the family gathering".

Title: Wishes

Author: Rakel Ugarriza

"I would have liked to be able to say goodbye to her, to tell her that everything was going to be alright, that we would meet again, perhaps later than sooner, but that I would always wait for her, with a cup of hot coffee, and with the radio at half voice, to snuggle together on the sofa, while the rain outside wets the sidewalks. I would have liked to be rain, to drag all our misunderstandings far away, to sweep away that routine that annihilated us. I would have liked to be a song to be able to tell her that I still haven't managed to forget her, yes, in a low voice".

Texts that exceed the maximum number of words

La Voz has also received several micro-stories, which exceed the maximum of 100 words. These are the texts that would not enter the contest, as they do not comply with the rules:

Title: The illusion (105 words)

Author: Carmen Mary

"She was impatient, she never missed a program of her favorite radio, it was her moment after a hard day, her lost and sad look, the smile only found her lips when the voice announced the beginning of her novel, the one that filled her with illusion every day, in which love did exist, and the magic box that enveloped her with its waves made her hibernate for an hour, then everything came off, she looked at the clock reminding her that her husband would soon arrive, without further delay she continued with her daily routine, and wishing that a new day would arrive with a new program, she fell asleep".

Title: Untitled (111 words)

Author: Echeyde Rodríguez

"From the discussion that Elena was listening to on the radio of her car, nothing seemed more absurd to her than the opinion of one of the guests, who stated that radio is one of the means of communication less corrupted by the excessive information saturation and that on the contrary television sinned in excess

While driving along the medular road, she could not avoid the irrepressible desire to call and give her opinion about the subject.

She put the indicator while looking in her bag for the mobile from which she would make the call. The next day the news of the fatal accident of a woman on the medular road was repeated equally on radio television".
