The General Director of Cooperation and Cultural Heritage of the Government of the Canary Islands, Mª Aranzazu Gutiérrez Ávila, and the Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council are already working so that the Timple House can be inaugurated at the beginning of 2011 in the Spínola Palace. This space has been chosen as it is one of the most important and best preserved stately homes on the island.

The works are already underway under the supervision of the center's commissioner, the timple player Benito Cabrera. The musician who gives the sample of timples from around the world and the works of art of the Canarian "sonorous camel" will be in charge, among other things, in a second phase of presenting the annual agenda of activities that will be carried out in La Villa and that will range from concerts, master classes, occasional workshops, recordings or talks related to this Canarian instrument. The main intervention is the electrical installation of the building.

The Timple House is born as a project that is conceived as a living center, with diverse activities and with an informative content in which, in addition, the interest of the tourist attraction and local cultural dynamization converge, in which to offer a program with a stable and quality character that combines the functions of a museum, study center and cultural space, to bring a traditional culture that has not been anchored in the past.

This is an initiative, which is born under the auspices of the General Directorate of Cultural Cooperation and Heritage, with the direction and curatorship of Benito Cabrera, is regional in scope and aims to value the ethno-historical heritage, based on traditional music and the timple as its axis.

This museum project includes a space dedicated to the history of the municipality; a room dedicated to the history of the timple, it will also be the location of pieces by artisans from Teguise and Lanzarote, completed with timples from artisans from all the Islands. Another unit will house the instruments of the world that have a relationship with our instrument, a space that, due to its dimensions, as well as its excellent acoustics, would be multipurpose as a concert hall. A third room will be used for the latest generation timples that incorporate new technologies. There is also a section dedicated to the construction process, recreating the Simón Morales Tavío workshop. The project also includes a multimedia room, an outdoor events space and a shop.
