The premiere of the new La Tiñosa Market registered a full house this Friday in El Varadero Square. The expectations of the Tías City Council were met and the first day of this new dynamization offer was supported by the public, mostly tourists who are enjoying their holidays in Lanzarote these days.
The mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, accompanied by the deputy mayor and councilor of Commerce, Jerónimo Robayna, participated in the symbolic act of opening this new market launched after many months of work by the Department of Commerce of the Tías City Council.
The new Puerto del Carmen market is located next to El Varadero Square, in Puerto del Carmen and will open every Friday of each week between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
New Market in La Tiñosa
This Friday, February 14, coinciding with Valentine's Day, the new Puerto del Carmen market kicked off. A total of 131 stalls will be in these facilities that have a uniform image and integrated into this unique area of Puerto del Carmen, with the color blue. The Tías City Council will oversee 10 stands that will be offered randomly to social groups and NGOs for their activities, in addition to having a fixed area for the promotion of the Island's products, Jerónimo Robayna stressed during the presentation of this market.
The Department of Commerce of the Tías City Council has promoted this facility that opens its facilities after an administrative process that has complied with the regulations governing these activities in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. Among the 131 stands will be entrepreneurs from the island and stalls dedicated to the sale of textile products, accessories, food, handicrafts, cosmetics, decoration and others. Yesterday, Friday the 14th, several dynamizing and musical activities were organized.
In addition to the mayor and the deputy mayor, the opening ceremony was attended by the spokesperson for the PP in Tías, Saray Rodríguez Arrocha, the Councilor for Tourism, Nerea Santana, and Aroa Pérez, Councilor for Education, Seniors and Human Resources of the Tías City Council.
Products of the Island
Among the stalls there are several for the commercialization of agricultural products from the Island, sauces and pastries, as well as cosmetics from aloe vera, and costume jewelry and jewelry using lava as an identifying element. The market houses an area for tasting tapas and typical foods as well as a recreation and leisure area for children.
The Tías City Council has launched a campaign to publicize this new offer among tour operators and tourist complexes in Lanzarote, which has allowed La Tiñosa Square to register a total full house on its opening day, similar to when the tapa fair has been organized here.
