The Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, hosted this Tuesday, June 25, the act of delivery of six armchairs donated by the Pequeño Valiente Foundation and Acciones de Corazón IKEA Spanish and Caribbean Islands, to the Pediatric ward in order to continue improving the rest and well-being of the companions of hospitalized children.
The event was attended by the manager of the Lanzarote Health Services, Pablo Eguía del Río, the head of the Pediatric service, Concepción Pérez, the Director of Nursing of the Molina Orosa, Teresa Salagre, and the president of the Canarian Pequeño Valiente Foundation, José Jerez.
The new reclining armchairs have been installed in the rooms of the Pediatric ward so that the families and companions of hospitalized children can rest during their hospital stay.
The head of the Pediatric service, Concepción Pérez, expressed her gratitude for this donation, which "contributes to our commitment to humanization and makes the hospital stay more comfortable for our patients and their families."
For his part, the president of Pequeño Valiente, José Jerez, stated that the donation of these armchairs is part of the line of collaboration that the Foundation maintains with the SCS and with the main hospitals of the islands.
The Pequeño Valiente Foundation develops different programs in the pediatric areas of the Canarian hospitals. Thus, the Molina Orosa hosts the Family Respite project, which on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays provides hospitalized children and families with a recreational space and various recreational activities.
