The Cabildo of Lanzarote has conveyed its congratulations to the XI promotion of the Degree from the University School of Tourism of Lanzarote (EUTL), which last Saturday, July 24, celebrated the graduation ceremony and the presentation of diplomas to the students who finished their degree this year.
The ceremony was presided over by the rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Lluís Serra Majem, and was attended by the director of the EUTL, Eva Crespo, and councilors Paula Corujo and Marcos Bergaz.
The island councilor of Education, Paula Corujo, congratulated the students on such a special moment for them as their graduation and celebrated that Lanzarote continues to develop as a place for university education for many people from the island and from outside.
Likewise, the second vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Marcos Bergaz, conveyed his congratulations to the graduating students and highlighted the importance of the professionalization that the island is experiencing in a fundamental sector for the economy, which seeks a change of model based on sustainability and increasingly high-quality tourism. "Having trained people in the field will decisively contribute to making that leap in quality that we are looking for," Bergaz assured.
During the graduation ceremony, the sponsors of this promotion, María José Morales García, Gloria Gil Padrón and Pedro Hernández Camacho, and the student representatives, Idaira Valencia García and Ingrid Valeria Henao Agudelo, gave their speech on behalf of the educational community of the degree.
The ceremony concluded with the interpretation of the university anthem 'Gaudeamus Igitur', with the performance of José Vicente Pérez, Adrián Niz and Almudena Hernández.
