The Lanzarote journalist Roberto Arrocha has been nominated for the Educa Abanca awards, known as the "Goyas of Education" in the University category, as he is a professor and Doctor at the University of Loyola in the Andalusian city.
Arrocha completed his compulsory studies in Lanzarote at the CEIP Adolfo Topham and the IES Agustín Espinosa, and moved to Tenerife at the age of 18, where he obtained a degree in Information Sciences from the University of La Laguna. In addition, he obtained a diploma from the University School of Teacher Training from the same University.
In 1999 he started working at the ABC newspaper in Seville, a medium in which he still works today, where he holds the position of head of the sports section. In addition, he is the presenter of "A balón parado", a television program of the media of Sevilla FC, a first division football team.
In addition, the journalist has several books published. The first of these was in 2009, with the first book, "A Balón Pasado", a compendium of interviews with former Sevilla players. In 2010 he published, together with the journalist José María Aguilar, the biography of the Sevilla sports director, "Monchi". In 2018 he launched the book "Hoy sí me puedo levantar", and in 2019 he launched his latest publication, "Think, then create: Educate to enjoy".
Educa Abanca will announce the winners of each of the categories on November 15.
