The City Council is working on the reorganization of the Ramírez Cerdá park market

The Department of Commerce of the Arrecife City Council, coordinated by Ángela Hernández, is currently working on the reorganization and improvement of the municipal market that is located every Wednesday and Thursday in the Ramírez Cerdá park in the capital and that until now did not have a uniform image of its points of sale nor did it comply with the regulations regarding the payment of fees or the placement of the stalls. The objective of the City Council is to improve the image of the different stalls in order to consolidate the market touristically and commercially.

"From the moment I took over this council, I have been working to achieve a unique image for all the stalls, as well as a better location that invites residents and visitors to stroll through this capital commercial area," said Ángela Hernández.

"Our market has been consolidated in recent years as a temporary venue for commercial activity, mainly frequented by tourists and residents of the municipality, which has meant not only a quantitative advance in terms of the supply of products in Arrecife, but also a tourist and commercial attraction of the city," he added.

Therefore, the councilor understands that a special effort must be made to promote and unify the image of the different stalls, thus improving the vision that is had of this market. In this sense, Ángela Hernández has also highlighted the tourist importance of the municipal market of Arrecife, "through whose stalls numerous visitors of the municipality pass". "There is no doubt that next to the Music Kiosk it would be a magnificent showcase to place Arrecife on the tourist map, and commercial Lanzarote".

Regulations

As established by the regulations, the City Council is in charge of setting the design conditions that unify the image of the stalls, which will have a maximum height of two meters and ten centimeters. In addition, the municipal ordinance indicates that between the different points of sale there must be a free space of 50 lateral centimeters that cannot be occupied by merchandise, chairs and other items.

It should be noted that at the moment the municipal market of Arrecife consists of a total of 116 stalls.
