The City Council demolishes a telephone antenna in Puerto del Carmen and warns that it will not be the last

The Tías City Council has won a battle against telephone companies that are located in its municipality without the necessary licenses. It has demolished one that was located in a residential complex in Majada Street in Puerto del Carmen. "If it was located there it is because the company has reached private agreements with the owners", explains José Juan Cruz, mayor of the municipality. Cruz also assures that the location of the antenna occurred thanks to reports from the Local Police, "although there were also complaints from the neighbors".

"We opened a sanctioning file for them to legalize the works, if they were legalizable, and they did not appeal it", says José Juan Cruz. Therefore, the Council decided to transfer this matter to the judicial route, through a contentious process that has lasted several years. "Now the sentence has come out and they have lost the lawsuit, so the operators of the Tías City Council have proceeded to demolish the antenna".

The mayor of the municipality also assures that the Council has a dozen lawsuits open for the same reason, so "more demolitions will occur". The mayor explains that the City Council, under the protection of the Southern Commonwealth, made a study specifying where the antennas should be located within the municipality, although this telephone company has ignored the indications of the Administration.
