The Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of the Canary Islands has decided to extend by 10 calendar days the deadline for submitting applications for aid per hectare for maintaining the cultivation of vines intended for the production of wines with a protected designation of origin (PDO), "given the damage caused to winegrowers as a result of the system failure and interruptions in the electronic headquarters" of the regional Executive.

"This inconvenience, which affects the rest of the regional ministries and departments, has prevented applicants for these subsidies from carrying out the procedures correctly, so we are proceeding diligently to solve the problem," the Ministry says, thus responding to the complaint that the Regulatory Councils had raised.

To "compensate for and recover the inactivity time and the inconveniences caused by the system failure", the Ministry has sent a statement to the regulatory councils of various points of the archipelago informing that the deadline for submitting applications will be extended by 10 calendar days, counted from the day following the initially planned completion.

From the Ministry they affirm that "the understanding of the applicants for said aid is appreciated" and regrets "the setbacks caused by the fall of the system, awaiting a solution with the maximum possible speed".
