The awaited rain in Lanzarote leaves significant records on the island

Localities such as San Bartolomé, Tegoyo or Puerto del Carmen were the ones that registered the most abundant precipitations

The intense rains registered in recent days in Lanzarote have left significant records in practically all the geography of the island. Nearly 26 liters per square meter fell in one hour during the downpour that affected Puerto del Carmen this Tuesday, which flooded Avenida de Las Playas and some shops and basements.

This Sunday the rains began to fall on the island, leaving some important rainfall data such as more than 8 liters per square meter in Mácher and 7 in San Bartolomé.

For its part, San Bartolomé registered up to 23 liters per square meter on the day of this past Monday, according to data from the Island Water Council. In addition, in the town of Tegoyo, a little more than 12 liters per square meter fell on the same day. It is also worth highlighting the almost 9 liters per square meter in Tías, Güime and Famara.

On Tuesday, the records were also remarkable in Lanzarote, especially the almost 26 liters per square meter in Puerto del Carmen. Likewise, the rain that fell in Tegoyo was again relevant, with more than 7 liters per square meter. For its part, at the Lanzarote Airport and in Güime, the records were 4 liters per square meter.
