The 8M Feminist Platform of Lanzarote will join the international women's strike that will take place on March 8 and has called on the women of Lanzarote to join the call. On the island, a demonstration will be held in the Parque Ramírez Cerdá, which will start at 6:30 p.m., in addition to a feminist meeting space and an information table from 12 to 8 p.m.

"We have many reasons to call again for a strike day this March 8, since after a year of struggle after the massive mobilizations of last year, we consider insufficient the social, political, economic and educational changes when it comes to achieving the equality that we all desire", the Platform points out in a statement.

Among these reasons, they point out "the violence that continues to be exerted daily on women, the number of deaths (97 this past year), the glass ceiling and the sticky floors, the burden of care that continues to fall mainly on women and the current education system that reproduces the heteropatriarchal system and is at the service of the capitalist system." "All this and a thousand more reasons continue to crush us and not let us be free",

Therefore, the 8M Feminist Platform of Lanzarote is once again calling a strike in the labor, student, care and consumption fields and encourages all women of Lanzarote to join this call and the mobilizations of the next Women's Day on the island, as well as all the men who support them in their struggle.
