The 14th Congress of the PSOE of the Canary Islands has paid a heartfelt tribute this Saturday to Alexis Tejera, former mayor of San Bartolomé, who recently passed away as a result of ALS.

Thus, during the Opening of the congressional event, which was attended by the general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, a short video was shown with images of Tejera and words of gratitude for his work.

Alexis Tejera informed his neighbors last October that medical tests had diagnosed him with ALS.

After his death was announced this week, social networks were filled with messages of condolence. The PSOE has deeply regretted the death of Alexis Tejera, a socialist "committed to his land" and who represented "the best" of the party's values, while also conveying all their affection "in these difficult times" for family, colleagues, and friends.
