The assembly hall of the Arrecife Civic Center held on Tuesday the closing ceremony of the 2013-2014 academic year of the municipal plectrum school, attached to the Department of Culture of the Arrecife City Council. About 40 students of different musical levels and of very varied ages participated in this event.
During the course, which began in September, they discovered the first musical notes under the direction of Professor Juan Arrocha and this Tuesday they put all their knowledge on stage, performing some compositions. Some of the most advanced students had the opportunity to go on stage for the first time, despite their nerves.
The Councilor for Culture, Eva de Anta, present at the event, congratulated and encouraged the students to continue next year and thus be able to continue expanding their musical knowledge. The closing ceremony ended with a performance by the Plectrum Orchestra, made up of the students themselves and directed by their teacher Juan Arrocha. Thus, he offered a brief but careful repertoire of compositions adapted for this musical formation.
