Like other Teguisol residents who have been evicted, she stopped paying rent when "the real estate company went bankrupt", but continued to pay the bills and the community fees. Now, she denounces the methods that the new property is resorting to.

A woman who resides in the Teguisol apartments, in Costa Teguise, denounces the "harassment" she suffers from a eviction company in Lanzarote, against which she claims to be planning to file a complaint for "coercion." This company has initiated a procedure to try to evict several homes in that complex, which were not paying rent. In this regard, the woman explains that she stopped paying it in 2020, when "the real estate company went bankrupt" with which she claims to have the contract and "the place where the monthly payment was made disappeared", but she defends that during this time she has continued paying "the bills and the community fees."

Now, the woman maintains that her house and other homes in the urbanization have been acquired by a company from Barcelona, which has hired the eviction company to carry out the evictions. “I'm just asking for a little time”, claims this neighbor, who explains that she has a minor daughter who is pregnant.

Another neighbor who legally resides in the same complex has come to her defense and has been the first to question the methods used by the eviction company, which he considers to use "illegal methods." According to reports, on Monday of last week they showed up there with security guards to prevent this woman and other families from accessing the homes, and he even claims that she, who was the only one who refused to leave the house, was given "a shove."

“They put a guard at the door and wouldn't let me in. I had to stay outside, with my pregnant daughter inside. She had to pass the documentation between the guard's legs,” explains the affected woman, who later went to the Civil Guard barracks to report the events to the Civil Guard.

In this regard, the Civil Guard confirms that they went to the complex, although they point out that a complaint was not filed and that what the agents did was identify the guards, to later pass the data to the court, as it is a “civil” matter. However, the affected woman assures that she will file with the National Police "a complaint for coercion and harassment" against the eviction company.

In addition, she plans to request from the Social Services of the City Council "a certificate of vulnerability", as she lives "with a minor with a high-risk pregnancy", to try to avoid the eviction and "get some more time" to be able to find a new home.

A rental proposal that lasted less than twenty-four hours

The affected woman also explains that, while she was away from home on Tuesday morning, they called her offering “a rental contract for the house,” telling her that they would deliver it to her that same afternoon. However, when the time came, they called her again “asking for the money in cash and at the moment.” “I told them to wait a moment, that I was in Arrecife, and they told me that if I didn't show up in ten minutes it meant that I didn't want the contract,” she assures.

“I was willing to stay in the place paying rent,” says the affected woman, who questions why “the company wanted the money in cash.” After withdrawing the rental offer from the eviction company in less than twenty-four hours, the woman concludes that “they were not interested in me being there.” “They wanted to kick me out,” she says.

The last offer from the eviction company hired by the new property was to give her “300 euros” if they left at that moment, or otherwise, give them until last Sunday to pay for the house, but without the money. “I'm just asking for a little time. In addition to my daughter, I have animals,” she insists, pointing out that in case she can't delay this eviction, she is already "preparing things to leave the apartment,” placing most of her belongings "in a laundry."
