San Bartolomé pays tribute to Pedro Espinosa de León and recognizes his career as a pioneer of the local soccer team

The municipal corporation of San Bartolomé, the board and players of San Bartomé C.F., fans and neighbors of the municipality paid an emotional tribute to Pedro Espinosa de León, better known as "Colón", on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. At the event, the plaque was unveiled that from now on will give its name to the municipal field, which will be called Pedro Espinosa de León.

Both the City Council and the soccer club had words of praise for this man. Within the soccer club, he has been a player, coach and member and has an important career in the veterans of San Bartolomé.

The daughters collected a replica of the plaque. Pedro Espinosa is now part of the municipal history giving name to this municipal sports facility. The mayor of San Bartolomé, María Dolores Corujo, highlighted the career of "Colón", "his involvement, his love for soccer from a young age and more in the ranks of San Bartolomé, as a player, worker and pioneer".

The event concluded with an important league match, with free admission for attendees between San Bartolomé C.F. and Unión Balos of Gran Canaria, with victory for the locals.
