The facilities of the Monumento al Campesino were filled on Friday night on the occasion of the charity dinner organized by Rotary Club Lanzarote to raise funds for the associations Afa, Afol and Adislan, so that they can carry out their programs. The food, which had 350 diners, was prepared thanks to the "special collaboration of three great chefs from Lanzarote Cocina", according to the organization.

"The benefits of this charity dinner will go to cancer patients, Alzheimer's and disabled children in Lanzarote", said the Rotary Club. During the past Christmas, the Club launched a solidarity initiative to raise funds for Afol, Afa and Adislan, with the donation of an Opel Corsa by the business group Orvecame Cabrera Medina.

The raffle of this car took place at this special dinner before the notary Don Pedro Botella, with the winning number being 4232. The organization has indicated that "the person who owns this raffle must appear at the Notary Office of Don Pedro Botella Torres during the next 30 days in order to prove their identity and proceed with the registration of the vehicle." They added that "the notary also extracted two other reserve numbers in case the owner with the winning raffle does not appear."

The Lanzarote Cocina collective was accredited with a diploma

The chefs that are part of the Lanzarote Cocina collective, under the presidency of the prominent chef Luis León, also collaborated in this solidarity initiative. Thus, in a special and altruistic way, the chefs Luis León, Orlando Ortega and Cristóbal Sánchez prepared "a succulent menu that was savored by the attendees of the dinner", commented from the Rotary Club. León was in charge of coordinating these chefs, who collaborated together with the staff of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote. The business groups Chacón, Supermercados Marcial/Spar Lanzarote, Lanzafrut and Africamar also helped by donating products", they added.

The Rotary Club's solidarity dinner was scheduled to be held outside the Marina Lanzarote, but for logistical reasons it had to be moved to the Monumento del Campesino. The vehicle donated by Cabrera Medina Orvecame was present at these facilities; after having been from January until this week at the Deiland Plaza, "which also supported this cause", pointed out from the Rotary Club.

The president of Rotary Club Lanzarote, María José Docal Serrano, thanked "the effort of the chefs" and presented an accrediting diploma to the Lanzarote Cocina collective "for their valuable help." During the act, the president of Afol, Carmen Arrocha, spoke, who thanked the collaboration that Rotarians have always had with the association, and presented a plaque with the Afol logo to the president of Rotary. The president of Afa, Manuel Ruiz, thanked the Rotarians "for their support since the creation" of said association. On behalf of Adislan, a group of users spoke, who thanked Rotary "because the therapeutic pool and the gym that it has in its facilities, has been an initiative of Rotary Club Lanzarote and the Rotary International Foundation in the USA." Finally, the vice president of Adislan, Yolanda Hernández Álvarez, spoke on behalf of this association of people with intellectual disabilities.
