La Tiñosa has experienced a weekend full of events due to the last days of the popular festivities in honor of Our Lady of Carmen. Among the events held, the processions by sea and by land stand out. In addition, there were also concerts and the festival culminated with fireworks.

The patron saint of sailors, who was received by numerous devotees and faithful at the door of the church, went out last Saturday to ride aboard the fishing boat 'Solimar 2º', accompanied by dozens of boats.

Moments before the maritime procession, the parish priest of Tías, Agustín Lasso, had a "very special" message for the palmeros, urging all those present to pray so that the fire on the beautiful island can be extinguished as soon as possible. Then, the Los Titirroys band paid tribute to the Virgen del Carmen with their songs.

"There are many people who adore you, porters with willpower, sailors who pray to you day and night and murgueros who come to sing to you," sang the murga. After the applause, a rain of white carnations arrived.

On Sunday afternoon, the Virgen del Carmen went out again in procession, surrounded by numerous faithful, and toured the streets of the town together with the Music Band to the Plaza del Varadero, where the folk group 'Gaida' performed.

Music has also been the protagonist this weekend, as the concerts of the Canarian groups, 'Raíces' and 'Son 21' have been held with great public success. Finally, and as every year, the fireworks castle put the finishing touch to these popular festivals, of which the City Council has highlighted the "great participation and the good atmosphere".
