The event, which was attended by the mayor, Miguel Martín, was "more than symbolic" to "make the residents of other communities feel at home", said the mayor. He was also accompanied by the Councilor of Playa Honda, Javier Betancort, and the Councilor of Citizen Participation, Juan Antonio de la Hoz, who helped in the raising of the flag.

There was no shortage of neighborhood groups in the celebration, including the Al-Andalus Association, which with just one year of life, is already preparing some action for the next April Fair.

With more than 1,200 Andalusians registered in Playa Honda, it is, together with the Galician community, the most numerous in the municipality of San Bartolomé. On the occasion of this celebration, the City Council of San Bartolomé has planned, for the afternoon of Friday, March 2, an event in the Mesón de la Cruz de Playa Honda, where attendees can enjoy a toast with fino and taste typical products of Andalusia.

There will be performances by the Rosa del Valle Dance School and members of the Al-Andalus Association, as well as the Oleo Band group and DJ´Diego.
