Playa Blanca will celebrate its Carnival this weekend and will be the first to do so without restrictions, after the Covid regulations that were still in force in the Canary Islands have been lifted. The stage will be the same as had already been prepared, on an esplanade in front of the Lanzarote Princess hotel, although now it will be with free access.
The celebrations kick off this Friday, with the Canine Carnival from 5:00 p.m., and the Meeting of Murgas and Chirigotas at 9:00 p.m.
Saturday will start with the Children's Carnival, at 11:00 a.m., and at night the Lanzarote troupes will take the stage, led by the two host groups: Los Yaiseros and Los Timanfeiros.
Sunday at 12 noon begins the Day Carnival, which inaugurates carnival shows with live orchestras on the Island after the pandemic. Dominican Juan Manuel La Linea and his orchestra, the La Sabrosa orchestra from Tenerife, the Furia Joven orchestra from Gran Canaria, the Bomba Group from Fuerteventura and Elvis DJ will take to the stage.
The enclosed area will have 6,000 square meters of floating floor to facilitate accessibility and comfort for the public and, despite the end of the restrictions, the City Council asks for "maximum citizen collaboration for the enjoyment of parties as cheerful as they are peaceful".
