Paco Delgado from Lanzarote has received the Goya award for best Costume Design for the film "Snow White", at the gala held on Sunday night at the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium in Madrid. On stage, Delgado recalled that this year he has several nominations, including one for the Oscars, but made clear his satisfaction with the recognition of Spanish cinema. "This was the award that I was most excited to receive," he said in his acceptance speech.
The Goya collected by Paco Delgado was the third of the night to be presented, and the Lanzarote native joined the critical and vindictive tone, albeit with humor, that has marked the gala. In his case, he referred to the VAT increase, as did the president of the Academy in his speech.
Delgado was also nominated for a British Academy Film and Television Award (BAFTA) for the costumes of the film "Les Miserables", held last week, although in that case he failed to win the award.
However, he is still nominated for an Oscar for that same film, so next week he will cross the red carpet to try to get a precious statuette as well. At the end of the Goya gala, the presenter, Eva Hache, said goodbye wishing the Lanzarote native good luck at the Oscars.
