A total of 83 boats reached Lanzarote in the first eight months of the year, which translates into 66% more than in the same period last year, when a total of 50 reached the island.

According to the Lanzarote Data Center, a total of 3,744 immigrants arrived in Lanzarote between January and August, of which 526 were minors, and two people lost their lives. In the same period of 2021, 1,456 people arrived on the island, of which 217 were minors, and a total of 7 deaths were mourned.

The data does not include the boats that have already arrived so far in September, when the arrival of boats usually increases, as is happening again this year.

In 2021, between September and December, a total of 88 boats arrived on the island, of which 38 were registered in September and 50 in the previous eight months.
