A total of 74 immigrants have been rescued by Maritime Rescue this Wednesday morning, in the two boats intercepted northeast of Lanzarote.
The Salvamar Al Nair intercepted the first one about five kilometers northeast of the island, with 35 people. According to the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security, there were 33 men and 3 women on board, all of Maghreb origin. In addition, one of the occupants has been transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
The disembarkation of these people took place at 08:39 hours in the commercial dock of Arrecife, from where Al Nair had to leave to rescue another barge that the Helimer 206 helicopter had located, also northeast of Lanzarote.
In this second boat, according to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, a total of 39 people were traveling.
