Lanzarote says goodbye to the heat wave after reaching 40 degrees

During the orange and red alerts for high temperatures, between last Friday and Sunday, 40.5 degrees were reached at the César Manrique Airport station.

Lanzarote says goodbye to the heat wave this Monday after having suffered temperatures of up to 40 degrees. This has been recorded by the different stations of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) on the island.

During the red alert for high temperatures, between last Friday and Saturday, 40.5 degrees were reached at the César Manrique Airport station. The highest temperature recorded.

This trend continued in municipalities such as Tías, where both Friday and Saturday reached 39.5 degrees. The average temperature in this municipality was around 30 degrees and the minimum above 22.

In the case of the Playa Blanca station, in Yaiza, the data collected by Aemet place the peak of temperatures between Saturday and Sunday. For example, last Saturday, August 12, a maximum temperature of 36 degrees was recorded and 35.7 the following day. Also, average temperatures were always above 30 degrees and the minimums were above 24 degrees.

To continue, in the municipality of Haría, a maximum temperature of up to 35.9 degrees was recorded. An average temperature of 30 degrees and a minimum above 24.

Also, the municipality of Tinajo reached its highest temperature last Friday, in the middle of the Canary Islands Government's alert for extreme temperatures. Then it was around 31.4 degrees. After that, it continued to decrease to 28 degrees of maximum temperature last Sunday. In their case, the averages remained above 26 degrees and the minimums above 21.
