The Ministry of Health has reported another 89 positive cases of coronavirus in Lanzarote in the last day, which raises the number of active cases on the island to 923. In the last 24 hours, 41 discharges have also been registered for patients who have already overcome the disease.

In addition, on Tuesday there were two new deaths on the island, bringing the number of deaths during this third wave to four and thirteen registered since the beginning of the pandemic in Lanzarote. However, the Ministry has not yet included two of these deaths in its statistics, which have been confirmed by the Lanzarote Health Services.

In one of the cases, the reason would be that the death occurred in Gran Canaria, where the 38-year-old girl who died last weekend was referred. In another, it is a 68-year-old man who died at home and was not diagnosed with the disease until after his death, with an analysis performed afterwards.

In total, the number of confirmed cases in Lanzarote since the beginning of the health crisis now amounts to 2,743, of which 1,809 have been discharged.

The latest cases diagnosed this Tuesday place the accumulated incidence on the island at 380.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days and 680.9 in the last 14 days, which represents a slight decrease compared to the previous day. On Tuesday, the Spanish average was 383.96 and 714.21, respectively.
