The patron saint festivities return to Lanzarote and La Asomada will be the first municipality to celebrate its own with different face-to-face events. Of course, the program of activities to celebrate the festivity of San José has been adapted to the preventive measures to avoid Covid infections.

According to the City Council, this year's program is based on the religious service scheduled for Saturday, May 1, at 12 noon, and on various children's activities with limited capacity.

"We have been very careful with the anti-covid-19 protocols, because the data reflects that we have to continue to be prudent. Last year we could not celebrate these festivities, but this year we offer activities with prior registration at [email protected]”, said the Councilor for Festivities, Sergio García.

The program, organized by the Festivities Commission and sponsored by the Tías City Council, will begin on Thursday, April 29 with children's workshops at 4:00 p.m. and with the performance of Dúo Impacto and their 'Long Live the Children' at 6:00 p.m. On Friday, at 5:00 p.m., the show 'Palabra de duende, con títeres, teatro y cuentos' will be offered.

On Saturday, May 1, the day of San José Obrero, the religious service will be held in his honor, at 12 noon. It will take place in the sociocultural center of La Asomada and not in the Church, in order to expand capacity.

At 4:00 p.m., traditional games will be held on the sports court and, at 6:00 p.m., the Trío Advance&Clown Balto will offer the show 'In Search of the Suitcase'.

For Sunday, children's workshops have been scheduled at 11:00 a.m. and a family circus-theater, at 5:00 p.m., by the ComediaDeSastre company, with the staging of the play 'Baby Boom'.
