With the reading of the proclamation by the neighbor Julián Rodríguez, the festivities began in Tias in honor of Our Lady of Candelaria and San Blas. A proclamation where its author demanded that "some of the errors" that have been written in relation to the history of the town of Tías be clarified by some "so-called historians, writers and journalists", putting themselves "at the service of the chieftains of the time existing on the island".
For Julián Rodríguez this was his second opportunity as a herald, since in 2007 he was invited by the previous Corporation. However, when he presented the draft, they "censored" it and gave way to another herald.
Julián is a man very committed to everything related to traditional and popular Canarian culture, rescuing popular couplets, children's and traditional games, as well as a great collaborator in different articles all related to Canarian culture.
During the event, Julián was surrounded by many neighbors and friends who came to the Hindiera hall of the Culture Department of the Tías City Council. The Councilor for Festivities, Francisco Javier Aparicio, acted as presenter, with the mayor José Francisco Hernández being in charge of making an extensive review of the herald.
After the reading of the proclamation, a great round of applause was heard that lasted for several minutes. Immediately afterwards, the mayor presented the herald with a gift.
Afterwards, the performance of the trio formed by the young Adrían Niz, on guitar; Samuel, on the timple; and Ruymán Martín, with the solo voice, took place, who presented the numerous audience with a wide and varied repertoire full of popular and traditional songs.
Before the end of the event, the proclamation was delivered in a booklet that contained all the content that Julián had previously presented in his oratory, which he signed to many of the attendees who requested it.
