"People were amazed by the visual spectacle and the sound quality of Juan Luis Guerra's concert," described the Arrecife Festival Councillor, Víctor San Ginés. "After learning about the project, we knew that success would be assured," added the capital city councillor, who emphasized that it was a concert "for the whole family," which, combined with the fact that it coincided with the last day of the capital city's San Ginés festivities and the fireworks display that usually gathers around 20,000 people, turned the end of the party into a massive gathering between residents and visitors. The Police estimate the attendance of the public to be around 35,000 people.
The concert was a complete success, both in attendance and in sound quality. The Dominican singer, who started his concert tour in the Canary Islands in Arrecife, presented his new album "La llave de mi corazón", which in the last edition of the Latin Grammys won a total of six awards. With new salsa rhythms and ballads, the people of Lanzarote danced under the stars on a Reducto beach filled to the brim. The composer's mythical themes such as 'Ojala que llueva café en el campo" and "bachata rosa", among others, were also present.
With three giant screens, the Dominican singer managed to spread his rhythms to the attendees through his songs, thanks to 200,000 watts of sound and half a million of lighting.
Despite the large influx of public, after the evening, the Councillor for Festivities also highlighted the success in terms of the lack of incidents that occurred during the night. "I want to praise the education and civility of the population that made the night pass without incident," he said after consulting with the staff of the Local Police and Civil Protection gathered for the event.
In addition, thanks to a special cleaning device that has been activated at 6:00 am, the capital city beach of El Reducto at 8:00 am was already completely clean.
Spectacular fireworks
Juan Luis Guerra finished his concert at 11:30 pm, after an hour and a half since the show began. He finished on time, the stage lights went out and the show moved to the starry sky of the capital. The fireworks that put the finishing touch to the festivities were "spectacular" according to the comments of some of the attendees. "We had not seen such fireworks any year," said one of the attendees, a resident of the island.
